As the city continued to burn, a group of travelers emerged from a house that is miraculously still standing despite the damage done to its surrounding. One of them is the Lord Knight, Hayne Roderick, who was tasked by the King to help in the evacuation progress before joining the other adventurers coming over from all the corners of the world to try and defeat the abomination that is destroying the city.

[Here's a list of Job Classes your character can take. Do note that since everyone here is experienced, you all can pick a Transcendant Class.

Each participants are handed a set of healing items of these following types in a Bag of Holding given by Hayne. Do OOCly tell the amount of healing items used so I can keep track of it.

Mission Giving + Q&A

After meeting up with another knight who spoke for a while with Hayne, the other knight turns towards the group of adventurers that Hayne brought with him. And with an authoritative tone, Hayne's comrade begins speaking.

"Since there is a lot of ground to cover, all of us are going to form into pairs and split up. Saving the citizens are of the utmost importance, after you've ensured that no citizens are in the vicinity of these unholy beasts, you may proceed to clear up the area. Hayne and his friend, meanwhile, will try to find the weakness of the beast alongside some of our comrades.

If you have any questions, ask them now. Otherwise, you are all free to move out."

"Ugh... do I really have to wear this...?" Ryouko grumbled aloud, as she still wasn't accustomed to the rather revealing garb of an Assassin Cross.

She sighed as she double checked her katars; she wasn't accustomed to using weapons, but the bladed fist weapons were simple enough to get used to. She was still just punching things, wasn't she? More or less.

"If we're pairing up, I'll try to keep Tenshi out of trouble. Well, unnecessary trouble, anyway."

Vivio nodded, looking around, not having many issues with the High Wizard outfit she was wearing. She grasped her staff in her hand, and moved over to Gohan. "I'll work with Gohan then," she said, a look of determination on her face.

Garrett crossed his arms, looking serious and a bit grumpy. Most of it seemed to be directed towards the knight taking charge, but if he had any complaints, he didn't voice them.

"Right... sounds like this is going to be a nasty one," he mumbled. "Hey, are we getting any support on this?"

"I'll make sure Ryouko doesn't screw up too bad." Tenshi said, and nodded. "Should be doable."

Tenshi, of course, was looking like a venerable Paladin (old sprites, stomach covered, proper armor), who somehow managed to get a proper hat. A modified sunday hat, with peaches.

Her sword still was an energy blade, of course, due to trueform ore - most people in RO would consider it an Immaterial Sword. And her shield? A stone buckler looking suspiciously like a keystone.

Gohan was decked out in Champion clothing. As such, the only weapons he had and needed were his own two fists.

He didn't say anything, but nodded when Vivio stated that she would be working with him. Even without taking into consideration that the two were friends, it made perfect sense to have a physical attacker and a spell-caster team up.

"Don't worry about that, you'll have the support of a few priests and a few Knights. We're currently being short on manpower, so that's the only back-up you all will have."

...This answer caused Hayne to sigh as he grabbed his sword, and prepares to move out.

"Very well then. Garrett, time to take our leave. And the rest of you, good luck."

With those short words, Hayne dashes off to one direction. Garrett might want to follow him before he disappears from the group's field of vision.

"...Since the remaining of you knows what to do, move out and finish your job with all your might! Good luck."

After saying that, the Knight turns and dashes off to another direction.

There are currently two paths that are available and not taken by Hayne plus that faceless Knight mook; Left and Right.

((Left has battles with monsters and has a hack and slash feel. Right not only has battles, they also have hostage situation. Restraints must be shown, as an overpowered attack may hit the civilians and injuring them. It has a more strategic feel about it. Tag one more time with your preferred direction for your group, and then we'll start.))

The path is riddled with monsters. And all of them are trying to murder you two.

I think its obvious what you two have to do here.

"Bet you I can take out more of these things than you." Ryouko grinned.

Without even waiting for a response, she charged into the midst of the monsters. Luckily, she'd trained with Hayne in the Simulation Room before and knew what she was capable in this form.

"Meteor Assault!"

The same went for Tenshi, of course, who also knew what to do, since she had practiced.

"Only primitive idiots charge in without a thought." She loudly announced, and then attacked on her own, Holy Crossing particularly dangerous-seeming targets with her defense-busting weapon.

Ryouko's Meteor Assault proved to be effective against a mob of monsters surrounding her! However, Ryouko can feel an oppressive aura lingering over her as from underground, decayed hands begin popping up out of the ground.

Two of those has latched on to Ryouko's feet, leaving her open to three lunging attacks from the front.

Tenshi is doing pretty well right now! However, she will find that the Holy Cross is getting less effective as the time goes on for some reason, and that the enemies' blows are getting stronger with every clash she did.

Flashy special attacks were one thing, but Ryouko was more accustomed to simply brawling anyway. She struggled to free her feet, all the while swinging rather wildly at her attackers.

These katar things were strange... but not too complicated to use, really. And she suddenly recalled another thing from her training... and produced a poison bottle that she had picked up during her preparations.

Some Enchant Deadly Poison should be helpful, after all.

"Well, I did not expect this to be easy! Let's Bash you!"

Tenshi used her rocky shield to shield bash the enemy back, and followed that up by throwing (chaining?) the shield. Let's see what they thought of that!

Right (Gohan and Vivio)

The path, while riddled with monsters, also has the occasional villagers cowering in fear. Right now there's two scared children by a pillar, and a circle of monsters surrounding them.

The path to the pillar is also currently blocked by broken infrastructures. What are you two going to do?

Vivio's eyes narrowed as she saw the two children surrounded by those monsters, trying to see if there was anything they could do for them.

It looked like, she might be able to...

Yeah, they should be close enough for it to work, if she had enough time? "Okay, Gohan, you going to be able to get over that stuff? I'm going to need to to fight against them while I put up a few barriers."

Vivio raised her staff, and concentrated as she began casting her spell. "Safety Wall!" she shouted, having the wall appear in front of the two children. "One of you, get on there while I make another one!" she shouted, as she started concentrating again.

"Yeah, I can make it through there," Gohan said, and he began running. He ran, leaped, and swung through the debris to get to the pillar, then leaps in toward the nearest monster, ready to drive his fist straight into its head.

One of the children scurried over to the safety wall, while Gohan's punch managed to distract the monster, and thus, drawing the other monsters attention to him.

...Gohan, you might want to dodge the incoming pile of monsters.

Vivio kept concentrating... before raising the staff again. "Safety Wall!"

And there was another barrier in front of the other child now.

She then turned her attention towards the monsters near Gohan and started casting another spell.

Gohan leaped backwards, bounced off a piece of debris, then grabbed onto a rod sticking out above the scene. He then dropped down with another punch aimed at the head of the topmost monster in the dogpile.

3rd Path (Hayne and Garrett)

As both of them made their way through the mostly empty path and dealing with the monsters easily, the pair of adventurers suddenly find themselves seeing a pile of dead bodies in a circle.

The perpetrator is apparently missing though.

"...Who could have done such a thing?"

It is quite obvious from this sentence that Hayne is shocked at this discovery, since there is no way a monster could do such clean cuts to end the lives of people. Henceforth, either the attacker is a ghost like that of Cenia, or a real, living person.

Garrett was shocked too. Monsters were never this neat.

"I bet it's some psycho, taking advantage of the monsters..." He kept his dagger handy, but didn't make a move to investigate. He wasn't going to be the one to take the first hit when there was a perfectly good Knight to do it for him.

Hayne said nothing as he walked towards the pile of corpses, and knelt down, checking the extent of the injury.

"...Its a sword wound, and still fresh. That means the killer is still around the area."

"Of course it wouldn't be easy..." Garrett seemed almost annoyed by this interruption. He spun the dagger in his hand and looked around. "Well, let's get this over with."

He then cupped a hand over his mouth and yelled. "HEY! We know you're out there!"

Stealth was obviously not the first thing in mind for him at this moment...

Hayne just facepalms at Garrett's display of recklessness. Sure that might cause the killer to attack them, which is both a good thing and a bad thing.

The sound of another person in armor approaching stopped Hayne from reprimanding Garrett though, and instead, he clamps his armored hand over the Stalker's mouth.

"SHH! Someone's coming."

"Ow!" Garrett made a motion to pull Hayne's hand away so he could yell some more, this time at him.

Then he heard the sound of someone approaching and chose to whisper instead. "Well, it worked..."
