It hits! Though, it would be anticlimatic if the blow finishes the guy off, won't it?

The monster roared as its huge sword is swung in yet another arc, and bullrushing Tenshi without giving any amount of care to Ryouko.

If Tenshi was going for the face, Ryouko would go for the legs. Even this creature had to have some sort of the weakness, and if they could systematically take it down somehow that's what mattered. While she found it a bit distasteful to do, she soon shimmered out of existence as Cloaking set in.

And with that done, she shot around to attack the monster from behind, going for the back of its legs.

Tenshi pretty much was half thrown back, half moved back to escape the worst of the rush, but endured. Quite a heavy attack, however...

"You twit, prepare to vanish somewhere!" She yelled and, upon noticing that Ryouko had vanished somewhere (hopefully for a sneaky attack) focussed on defense, that is, moving out of the way of the blade and blocking when she couldn't.

And Ryouko's strike hits, causing the monster to stumble into the ground with a loud crash. Before anyone else could do anything though, the monster got up, and...

"YOU IMBECILES WILL PAY FOR THIS!

LORD OF VERMILLION!"

Suddenly, from the ground, explosions of fire and lightning begins to appear on the ground around the fighters, strangely, the monster is unharmed though!

"Shit...!" Ryouko couldn't help but curse, as she began to struggle to dodge around the explosions.

Although she wasn't entirely successful, as some managed to hit her and throw her around.

Tenshi is of course closer to the enemy, and gets more hits. "Hey, thats my kind of attacks, don't copy them!" she shouted as she tried to graze those hits while still, of course, getting hit - more than Ryouko, due to her closer proximity.

"You JERK!"

"Is that all?"

Turns out big, large and ugly just grabbed Tenshi's sword, and with a tug, threw both weapon and user into the other adventurer, before the man bellowed to the sky.

"Begone from the mortal realm, STORM GUST!"

And with that, a blizzard descended on the two, what's strange about this magical blizzard that it will only take a while for both of them to be frozen.

Damnit, ice. Why did it have to be ice?

Ryouko grimaces as her movement slows, before coming to a stop. She just stares daggers at her foe, clenching her katars as she tries to force her legs forward once more. As seconds seem to taken an eternity, she begins to feel motion returning to her as she shoots forward.

Enough games.

"SOUL BREAKER!"

Tenshi made her weapon Vanish before it could stab Ryouko, and picked it up while rushing out of the ice, just in time before it could freeze her solid.

Chucking a potion, Tenshi raced back towards the ugly hulk once the stormy whiel was allowing her to do so. Stabbing time once more.

Its countered by the big sword, and the monster took a step backwards, before breaking the clash with ease, and bringing his sword down like a hammer.

I hope Tenshi has a resistance to Hammer Falls

While its attention is focused on Tenshi again, Ryouko will attack from behind.

Tenshi lacks resistance in general, and is momentarily stunned, however, she's a Vit Paladin, so the stun won't last long. Hopefully, she still is getting the attention for Ryouko's attack~

The monster is getting more and more injured! This is shown by it actually kneeling in pain from Ryouko's back stab. However, its not exactly out yet as it stood up, and with a roar, an aura surrounds it!

"No, it can't end like this! BOTH OF YOU SHALL DIE FOR THIS INSOLENCE!"

Two-hand Quicken in play, the monster suddenly becomes an agile tank that assaults both of you with rapid and heavy slashes!

Ryouko does her best to dodge and parry blows with her katars, but her mastery of the katars is sadly somewhat lacking.

Even without the actual skills, she's still a bit clumsy with the unfamiliar weapons, after all.

Tenshi fared somewhat better, being used to avoiding a lot of stuff, but she realized that they couldn't do this forever.

"Yes it can end like this, you oversized dolt!" She yelled, stepped right next to him, and attempted to drive her translucent energy blade through a gap in the armor, deep into his chest. A somewhat risky move - some would call it Sacrifice - but she had spotted Ryouko getting into trouble, so it was worth the risk!

The sickening sound of a blade being stabbed into the heart could be heard. The large man just stood silently, still in mid-swing, as he began to fade into purple flames.

And with the man finally fading away, both of them are free to continue on the path towards the center of the destruction, the large thing at a distance wrecking the town.

The path is strangely empty though.

"That was a pain." Ryouko grimaced, as she began to chug some potions. She quickly felt better, but still wasn't too happy about how that fight had gone. All the same, she'd still poke some fun at Tenshi.

"You okay? He did a number on ya, didn't he?" she grinned, as she began to make her way down the path.

"Of course he did, that's the point! If he hsd gotten you you might have died, and I can't have that, Kazumi would have nagged me for it." Tenshi shot back happily, always willing to shoot back.

Metaphorically, in this case.

She shook her head. SO those things just disappear, huh.

Tenshi followed down the path - quickly stepping up to get ahead again - once she had gathered breath.

As they went on the path, the quietness is disconcerting, considering you can hear the sound of clashes coming from a distance away.

Behind them, however, another wisp of flame begins forming anew.

"I wasn't going to die!" Ryouko snapped back, although not very confidently. She wasn't really sure how that would have gone without Tenshi's save, after all. "But thanks anyway, I guess..."

Of course, she never considers looking behind her.
