Before going to the place of their job, all involved C.O. members are given explicit instructions from the source.

"The Time of Eve café has avoided suspicion, but after reviewing the data stored in the android assigned to investigate it, I believe there has been a mistake in its review. Please thoroughly investigate the café for any unsavory behavior, particularly fraternization between androids and humans and/or violations of Robot Law 9, Article 3_{*No android is permitted to turn off its ring while in motion.}

Though this is a job for the Robot Ethics Committee, do not allow this to be made known. If you feel you may have come under suspicion, leave the premises immediately. This investigation must be conducted under utmost secrecy."

That said, the café itself is quite a pleasant place. Upon entering, the C.O. members are faced with a sign that reads: ”Time of Eve's Rule: In this café, there is to be no discrimination between humans and robots. Customers, please cooperate. Obey the rule and have a fun time...”

The café features a main floor where the counter, a grand piano, and a number of tables can be found, as well as a lounge area with comfortable couches and chairs. There is also a loft where more seating is available. Customers are scattered throughout the place.

How will their investigations go?

Upon entering, she is likely the first person seen as she stands behind the counter. No matter who it is that enters, she greets them more or less the same.

“Welcome! Please take any seat that's free. I'll take your order soon.”

Holding out a hand to indicate one of the many empty seats, she shoots a smile to her newest customer.

“It might only be a short while, but enjoy yourself, all right?”

Secrecy, investigation, lying, detection, diplomacy, palaver. Koizumi was relishing this job quite a bit -- despite, or perhaps due to, it not falling under his 'usual' activities (if there was such a thing).

That said, he'd had to catch up on the guidelines of the world itself and he finds it somewhat disturbing. It was hard to say whether such robots are to be considered sentient, but that very fact made the required subservience of the robots -- distasteful, perhaps, was the easiest word for it.

However, orders were orders, at least for the time being. He stepped inside, sitting down at the counter.

"Certainly, miss," he said with a polite smile. "I've heard many good things."

"Is that so? I'm glad," the owner replies as she goes about the usual actions for preparing coffee - setting the kettle on the stove and so on. "I've got another order at the moment, but feel free to check the menu and decide if you would like anything."

With a small swish of her hand, the small lens on the counter projects the menu in the air in front of Koizumi, showing the signature coffee of the place at the top: "Evlend". Below are various other drinks and a few snacks, just as you would find at any other café.
