WHEN: After all the Emeralds have been gathered.
WHAT: Time to shut you down once and for all, Robotnik!

The Black Egg may as well have been an optical illusion against the dark starry sky; it's inky metallic surface reflected the points of light around it in a way where it was hard to see it, until two twin stars would disappear over its horizon at the same time. Even the titanic robotic face carved into the side with satellite-dish eyes revealed its planes only when the earth's albedo reflected at just the right angle, producing a sudden, watchful face from orbit for a few minutes that was all too familiar to the planet's pollution-soaked inhabitants below.

The mission sounds simple: Get in, apprehend Robotnik, destroy the Black Egg, and get out. But with his base in the lower ionosphere and heavily guarded by robots, it isn't going to be as easy as that. According to Tails the Chaos Emeralds would help, but just how they would help is uncertain. What is certain, is that the gems are powerful; to a mage it was like standing next to a mana battery the size of a small house; to someone who saw magic through music they were like tuning forks run through the world's most powerful stadium speakers. But so far they haven't reacted to any attempts to activate them. They only quietly shimmer and ring in odd harmonics just outside of the range of hearing.

Step one, of course, is actually getting up there. To some it would be easy; Tenshi the Rabbit may be able to fly her way up there no problem, but for those of the more terrestrial and oxygen-dependent persuasion would find the trip much safer in Tails' ship, the Typhoon.
